What happens if you don't put enough postage on a package? ›

Returned to the sender with the reason for nondelivery “Returned for Additional Postage” if First-Class Mail with a return address. The sender may affix the additional postage, cross out the reason for nondelivery, and remail the piece.

Change of Address Confirmation

Within 5 Postal business days before the COA start date, you will also receive a Welcome Kit containing your Customer Notification Letter (CNL) in the mail at your new address. A Change of Address Welcome Kit is a confirmation of the Change of Address, effective date and name.

“Accepted” means that the sender has delivered it to a postal facility. This could be your local post office or a distribution center where sorting will occur. It does not mean that any other action has occurred, but normally it will be sorted and begin its journey to the destination that day.

With the Informed Delivery feature, there is an option to report instances where you've received an image of a mailpiece, however, the physical mailpiece has not arrived in your mailbox. We ask that you allow several days for delivery after receiving the notification before reporting the mailpiece as missing.
