Outriders: Status Power Explained (1)

In Outriders, players get to boost their passive skills and abilities, known as Attributes, to help to fulfill their ideal playstyle. One Attribute, Status Power, buffs the strength of a player’s Status Effects such as Burning, Freezing, and Weakness.

There are so many Attributes that players can modify to improve their performance in Outriders. Some can improve weapon damage, boost armor, and heal players as they deal damage through Leeching.

Status Power simply improves all ofOutriders' Status Effects for a player. Obviously, certain classes are better at marking enemies with particular Status Effects, so improving Status Power might not always be as important, depending on a player’s class and build.

Outriders: Status Power Explained (2)

Players can view their Status Power by opening the Stats list on their Inventory page. Just under Anomaly Power, players will be able to see their Status Power as a percentage which shows much more effective their Status Effects will be.

There are three types of Status Effects in Outriders: Crowd Control, Damage, and Debuffs. Crowd Control and Debuff effects are enhanced in the same way, but Damage effects are affected slightly differently by a player’s Status Power.

How Status Power Affects Crowd Control and Debuff Effects:

For the two Crowd Control effects, Freeze and Ash, and the two Debuffs, Vulnerable and Weakness, increasing Status Power will increase the duration of these effects. Because Status Power is a percentage, each effect will be extended by the base duration multiplied by that percentage. In other words, enemies that are frozen, ashed, made vulnerable, or weakened by players will be under those effects for longer.

Players should note that Status Power does not affect the Slow Status Effect. Slow’s duration is determined by the Skill or Mod that applies it to an enemy, and the amount that an enemy is slowed is determined by the enemy’s Effect Resistance. This makes Status Power a little less important for Tricksters that use a lot of slowing abilities.

How Status Power Affects Damage Effects:

Status Power will increase the damge dealt by the three Damage effects Burn, Bleed, and Toxic. Each Damage effect deals damage every 0.5 seconds, so increasing Status Power on these effects can massively increase the total damage dealt to an enemy. Damage will increase by the percentage value of a player’s Status Power. A Pestilence Technomancer will benefit greatly from higher Status Power as it will boost their damage output substantially with abilities such as Blighted Rounds.

How to Increase Status Power:

To improve Status Power, players will need to find gear that has a Status Power Attribute boost on it. Unusual (Green) gear always has one Attribute boost - with higher rarities having more boosts – which is found in the stat block of the weapon or piece of armor.

Outriders: Status Power Explained (4)

Outriders players will benefit from a Status Power Attribute boost on a piece of armor if they have that armor equipped. However, for weapons, players will only benefit from the Status Power boost if they the weapon with the relevant Attribute boost equipped and held. This means that players’ Attribute stats will change depending on whichever weapon they are currently holding.

Outriders is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
