10 signs your life is more on track than you think, even if it doesn’t feel like it - The Expert Editor (2024)

Do you ever wonder if your life is moving along the right track?

Trust me, I know exactly how sometimes you’re doing your absolute best, yet it feels like you’re only treading water.

You might be doing everything in your power to keep moving forward, but life often throws you unforeseen curveballs that you don’t expect.

And you have no choice but to keep trying!

Well, I’m here to tell you that I understand your pain. I’m also here to tell you that your life might be more on track than you think.

Here’s 10 signs your life might be going way better than it sometimes feels:

1) You might be making mistakes, but you’re learning from them

Mistakes are often an unwanted part of life, because they make us feel inadequate in the moment.

But what if we could reframe the way we viewed mistakes?

What if we could even embrace them?

You see, mistakes are actually necessary to grow.

That doesn’t mean you should go around and deliberately make mistakes. Nor does it mean that you should ignore the repercussions of your mistakes, especially on other people.

But it does mean that when you make one without meaning to, you shouldn’t beat yourself down or internalize any shame and guilt around it.

What’s much better is if you’re acknowledging it, taking accountability, and making better decisions in the future.

But mistakes aren’t the only way to grow. You can also be pursuing growth deliberately:

2) You’re doing things beyond your comfort zone

Are you having new experiences often?

Even if it doesn’t clearly lead to anything, another sign that you actually are on track is if you’re reaching beyond your comfort zone on a regular basis.

Regardless of the speed of your progress, having a mindset of growth by trying new things and having new experiences will take you further in life than not!

By simply having an interest in growing and learning, you’re bound to seek out new knowledge, develop new skills, and grow without realizing it.

This certainly means you’re moving in the right direction, even if it doesn’t feel like it.

3) You have trustworthy people around you

Having trustworthy people around you is a huge achievement in itself.

You see, it’s quite difficult to find the kinds of friendships and relationships that are for life. The kind of people that you can always depend on.

So if you have even one of those people who supports you no matter what, you can count yourself lucky.

You’re also more likely to be on the right track because those kinds of friends and family will always keep you safe, loved, and will have your back no matter what.

You know when you go bowling? Think of these people as gutter guards in your life.

If you reach the edge, they’ll help to push you right back on track, so that you will never fall into the worst position – the gutter!

Cherish those people and thank them for keeping your life on track.

4) You know how to find joy in simple moments

What is really the point of life, if you’re not happy?

Sure, there will be exciting and thrilling moments in your life when something amazing happens. It’s easy to be happy in these moments, but those moments won’t be constantly happening.

Plus, haven’t you ever met someone whose life seems perfect externally, but they were miserable? It’s more common than you might think!

The truth is, that life is filled with ordinary and mundane moments more than anything.

However, these simple moments can be joyful, too, if you know how to find the joy in them.

So if you can find deep gratitude in a simple cup of coffee, a hug from a friend, or a lie-in on the weekends, you can learn to access joy in the most mundane of moments.

You won’t be waiting for something good to happen to you, in order to be happy. You’ll learn to allow yourself to be happy regardless!

So if you are able to find or create joy for yourself, regardless of what’s happening externally, you’re absolutely on the right track.

5) You prioritize your health

Okay, maybe you’re not doing everything you could be to reach optimal health.

Not everybody has the time or resources in the day to meal prep, work out regularly, or eat only the best ingredients.

If you are doing those things, that’s excellent!

However, most of us prioritize our health in the little ways that also deserve recognition; like not having that late-night snack, or doing a ten-minute stretch in the morning.

Or, maybe it’s as simple as cutting down our coffee intake from three cups a day to two, or one.

Whatever it is, if you’re taking small steps to prioritize your well-being, you’re well and truly on your way.

Small steps still create an important ripple effect.

Simply having that intention to care about your health means that when you have more time or more resources, you already have a little snowball of momentum rolling that can become bigger with a little more effort.

So, if you’re making conscious choices to eat well, exercise regularly, manage stress, and prioritize self-care, you’re investing in your well-being.

These healthy habits are signs that you’re on track to living your best life.

6) You know your mission

I believe that everyone has a mission in life.

That mission can be big and world-changing, or it can be as simple as spreading more love in the world with your existence.

Either way, having a north star to guide your actions is extremely important in continuing to move forward in life.

It doesn’t mean you’ll always be moving fast towards it – it just means that when you feel lost, you’ll have a compass to help you.

These goals provide you with a sense of purpose and direction, motivating you to take meaningful actions.

Even if you haven’t reached all your goals yet, having them in place demonstrates your commitment to progress.

You know what they say, “Shoot for the moon, and if you miss, you will still be among the stars”!

7) You’ve overcome a lot in the past:

Life will always be filled with challenges.

But the fact that you’ve faced difficulties and overcome them to be here now, shows the resilience and determination that will carry you through anything.

Each and every obstacle builds you up and makes you stronger. Each time you bounce back from a challenge, you become better at overcoming things in the future.

So if you’ve been through a lot, and you’re still here and trying your best, you’re on the right track in my books.

8) You’re financially aware:

Managing your finances wisely is a sign of maturity and responsibility.

You don’t have to be making six figures a year, or be a millionaire.

But if you’re living a life free of unhealthy financial habits like gambling, shopping addiction, or spending more than you make, you’re pretty financially responsible!

Even better – if you have a budget, save money, pay bills on time, and make informed financial decisions, you’re on your way to financial stability.

So don’t underestimate the power of your awareness of money. This can be a dealbreaker in living your best life.

If you have this, it means your life is more on track than you think.

9) You’re not afraid of change:

Even though it can be scary, change is one thing no one can avoid!

That’s why your ability to adapt to it, rather than resist it, is a positive sign that you’re more on track than you think.

If you’re open to new opportunities, embrace change as a chance for growth, and view challenges as opportunities for transformation, you’re demonstrating resilience and adaptability.

Remain flexible and open to change, as this can bring you opportunities greater than you can imagine.

10) You listen to your intuition:

Your intuition often knows what’s best for you, even when your rational mind is filled with doubts.

The key is to learn the difference between true intuition and your thinking brain. Sometimes, this difference can be hard to understand.

But if you’re connected to your inner wisdom, and you listen to what it has to say, you’re likely heading in the right direction.

Final thoughts

So there you have it.

When you’re wondering if you’re on the right track, remember these 10 signs that remind you of how progress often comes in subtle forms.

Life is a beautiful journey that comes with experiences and phases of all colors and shades.

Some experiences will have you bursting with excitement, some will have you frustrated, and some will have you sad and in despair.

All of them are just as valuable as each other. But that value is created by you, your attitude, and how you choose to view what’s happening.

So no matter what the experience looks like for you right now, just know that there is always a treasure available if you’re open to it.

Maybe you won’t see it until more time has passed. That’s okay too!

Keep trusting in yourself, and remember these 10 signs.
